Front Progressive Spring Change

The top spring is the stock progressively wound factory spring. The bottom spring is the Progressive brand name spring. Wire diameter is .049 on both springs the only difference is the Progressive brand is 3/4" longer for more preload and the progression is different. The tight wound section takes care of the small bumps the spread out coils handle the big bumps.

Changing the springs is very easy, put the bike on the center stand support or jack up the front slightly to take pressure off the wheel, remove the instrument garnish and triple tree cover. Once that is complete the tube nut is removed - old spring out new spring in, just that simple.

Test results were inconclusive - little change if any but this is a seat of the pants guess at best. Fork oil may have a greater effect than this change but this is just my opinion.
